I don’t have a cat, but I’m not a hater, either. And yet, I do poke fun of cat clothing a bit in FORGOTTEN. No spoiler alert needed when I say that the main character has a very bad day—or perhaps a very good one?—thanks to a hideously happy cat t-shirt. Feeling a little guilty for dissing cats, I thought I’d troll the internet for some cute cat couture…that is to say, couture for humans that features cat imagery. And by “couture,” I mean t-shirts. C’mon people, some days I’m still in PJs at noon. Following are Cat’s Cat Couture Picks: Sequins…meow! From French Connection, the Felix Sequin Tee would be super cute for a night on the town. Except have you ever noticed that when you wear sequins, if you point at something to your left with your right arm, the underside of your pointing arm gets scratched? Guess that’s the price of rocking your cat shirt. Summer’s coming, making this fun Striped Lace Feline tank from Forever 21 even better. The model is wearing it with jeans but the bold stripes feel a little nautical to me. Wear this kitty to sea! If you’re on a pirate ship, try this one instead. And two more picks from Etsy, the greatest site evah: the Sangria Yarn Kitty (I have a long-sleeved, hoodie version of this one…love!) and my personal fave, the Lovely Kitten Tee with a friendly feline on the shoulder. So there you have it: cat t-shirts you can wear with pride. And even though I said this was about t-shirts only, I’ll just throw in an adorable little bauble from Betsey Johnson to see if Hubby’s reading the blog. I’m pretty sure the gift giving opportunity of Mother’s Day is right around the corner, isn’t it? I mean seriously, this is the coolest. It’s a ring. It’s a locket. And it’s a cat, too. Purr-fect!

  1. I love cat clothes! Not knitted sweaters on husky cats, but t-shirts and accessories involving anything feline that people can wear. I took an adorable picture of my cat, Nancy, and converted it into one of those things you can iron on to a t-shirt. I call that my shopping shirt, but only for grocery stores. I feel like I’m most productive and maximizing my shopping experience when I’m wearing my Nancy shirt. It must be a psychological thing because I don’t honestly think that Nancy’s presence (albeit as an iron-on image on my t-shirt) has the magical powers to make me a more practical shopper. Who knows though? She is a pretty “super” kitty!
